libbladerf2

Library and udev rules for Nuand bladeRF boards

What it does

The shared library the bladeRF host tools and SoapySDR module are built against, together with the udev rules that make the boards accessible without root.

Why you would want it

Nothing reaches a bladeRF without it, and its udev rules are the reason the hardware entry's identifiers are confirmed rather than guessed — they were read from this package's own rules.

Before it will work

bladeRF hardware. Firmware and FPGA images are separate and version- sensitive.

How it installs

  • apt: libbladerf2

Known problems

Debian 13, Parrot and Ubuntu 26.04 ship 0.2024.05 while Kali ships 0.2025.10 (apt-cache policy, 2026-08-28), and the FPGA image must match the library version. The x40, x115 and 2.0 micro are different boards with different images.

Keeping it current

  • probe: apt policy
  • strategy: apt_upgrade
